Age and housing, at a glance
Two different views of the area: residents by age, and occupied homes by tenure.
Age distribution
56,742 people · ± 2,841 approximate 90% margin of error
Share of all residents, including people in group quarters. Hidden groups keep the same population denominator.
Renting & ownership
18,224 occupied housing units · ± 828 approximate 90% margin of error
Share of occupied housing units. This does not describe people, vacant homes or current listings. Hidden groups keep the same housing denominator.
Sources and calculation method
Counts are summed over the official member tracts listed in this profile. Age groups combine the male and female cells for each age band. Counts are added before dividing by the full population or occupied-housing total; percentages are never averaged.
Group margins of error use Census sum and subset-proportion approximations, with a ratio fallback where necessary. They are approximate 90% intervals, not exact replicate-weight results. Correlation and zero-count cells can affect their accuracy. Missing values and zero denominators have no percentage. These figures describe the survey period.
Census calculation guidance ↗People who live here
Share of the total population. These groups are mutually exclusive; Hispanic or Latino includes people of any race. ACS 2020–2024. US Census ACS + NYC Planning tract equivalency.
Each bar uses a 0–100% scale. Margins of error are approximate. Read the calculation method and original sources below.
How to read this evidence
BrytaLocals sums published ACS 2020–2024 population and race/ethnicity counts over the exact member tracts in NYC Planning’s 2020 tract-to-NTA equivalency. No spatial weighting or name matching is used. Counts are summed before percentages are calculated. The 90% margins of error are approximations from Census sum/proportion formulas (ratio fallback where necessary), not exact replicate-weight estimates; correlation and zero-count cells can affect their accuracy. NYC Planning supplies the neighborhood housing and income medians directly through Population FactFinder for the same ACS 2020–2024 period and official 2020 NTA IDs. Planning estimates these medians by linear interpolation within aggregate count distributions; BrytaLocals does not average tract medians or recalculate publisher medians or their margins of error. Only uncoded estimates marked reliable by Planning are shown. Top- or bottom-coded and publisher-unreliable medians remain unavailable here. Dollar values are in 2024 dollars. Published 90% margins of error are copied from Planning.
Area boundaries do not establish school attendance, a property’s local jurisdiction or a household’s experience. Check the specific address with the responsible agency.
