USGS description & history
This community was known as Paris in 1873.The name was changed in 1884 (after the North Western Railroad came through the area) to honor Admiral Lord Charles Beresford of England, who supported financially the railroad. (SD-T17/p49) Incorporated on 12 July 1884.
