From "Southern Nevada Place Names": Water pockets on the old stage line, about 5 miles below Carp...The Meadow Valley Wash makes a big bend between Carp and Rox, so Pockets was also called Angle City.
Pockets was stage station in 1890s, known as Angle City in 1903
