USGS description & history
Located in northeastern Howard Township.
Laid out in 1880 by A Blaker of Pleasanton, Kansas. It was named for either Charles Sprague, a merchant, or H C Sprague of St Louis, who was general superintendent of the Kansas City, Fort Scott, & Gulf Railroad. (MO-T101)
