USGS description & history
On Martha's Vineyard between Squibnocket Ridge and Squibnocket Point 2.9 mi SW of Chilmark; Town of Chilmark.
The name "Squibnocket" is derived from an Indian word meaning "a place where the red ground nut grows," probably referring to the bulb of the orange-red lily - Banks, 1911 (MA-T43)
